Outcome-focused use of technology in environmental and social assessment
Digital approaches, tools and technology are proliferating in society and across environmental and social assessment, however questions remain about their effectiveness in achieving positive outcomes. How many of the tools remain too focused on the process rather than the underlying outcome?
In this Expert Talk on 19 August Luke Strickland, Practice Lead for Environmental Assessment at Mott MacDonald, will explore how appropriate application of technology can lead to technical improvements and deliver more socially inclusive and environmental outcomes, as well as explore whether inappropriate use of digital tools can hinder effective decision making, drawing on experience across numerous projects in the UK. Luke will also give a practitioner’s perspective on emerging future direction in this area.
