Seven global sustainability delivery consultancies operating in the architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) sector have joined Environment Analyst’s North American Sustainability Delivery Group. The group will lead a number of initiatives to develop and enhance the sector’s role in delivering a sustainable transition.

 

The founding members of the group are AECOM, Arcadis, Jacobs, Mott MacDonald, Ramboll, SWCA and WSP. Together they employ 250,000 engineers, designers and sustainability specialists globally, with combined revenues of $48bn in 2022. 

 

“This sector remains uniquely placed to deliver the sustainable transformation of infrastructure and the built environment in North America,” says Ross Griffiths, chair of Environment Analyst’s North American Sustainability Delivery Group. “Its ability to bring best  in class technical sustainability and environmental consultants to bear in the design, engineering and construction of North America’s next generation of infrastructure will be critical to delivering net zero targets in an equitable way.

 

“This group enables the participants to coordinate their efforts and collaborate to develop a shared vision of how sustainability objectives will be operationalised and delivered in the years to come. It also allows them to form consensus on the challenges ahead and how they can be mitigated.”

 

The group aims to:

 

• Improve the value proposition of environmental and sustainability professional services 

• Champion the role of the E&S consulting sector as technical partners in the delivery of sustainable infrastructure 

• Drive forward the E&S consulting sector's leadership role as sustainability enablers

• Listen carefully to client sectors' needs and promote stakeholder dialogue

• Inspire the next generation of sustainability leaders

 

The group also seeks to:

 

• Unite as a collective to influence and accelerate DEI programmes for cross-industry impact

• Promote innovation and technical excellence across the industry

• Be bold and advocate for ambitious solutions for our clients

• Promote sustainability within the engineering and construction industry and wider supply chain

• Pursue the judicious use of AI and digital technology to promote a just transition
